The Empire of Kalux was once the Kingdom of Light. Now it is a hollow crown. Drought withers the land, greed rots the court, and rebellion stirs in every shadow. To the west, provinces whisper of freedom. To the east, a warlord unites the desert tribes, his gaze fixed on conquest.

Into this crumbling world march two very different souls.

Pelar dreamed of glory. With the songs of heroes in his heart, he joined the army, eager for battle and honour. Instead, he is sent to crush uprisings in foreign cities — just another soldier in the Empire's iron fist. Disillusioned and weary, Pelar must find the strength to stand for something greater before the Empire grinds him into dust.

Sarene dreamed only of vengeance. She blames Kalux for her father's death and will stop at nothing to see the throne fall. But the path to power runs through shadows, and the magic she seeks is older, darker, and far more dangerous than she imagined. The question is no longer whether she will claim it — but whether it will claim her.

As rebellion sparks and armies gather, Pelar and Sarene are drawn toward a fate neither can escape. Their choices will set kingdoms aflame, awaken magics thought long dead, and bring an empire to its knees.
